WHY WE EXIST
At Byron Bay Tea Company, our journey is about more than just a beautiful brand; it's about articulating our mission, values and the philosophy driving us as a team.
Meet us.
As a team, we are devoted to sourcing the freshest, highest-quality ingredients for our teas, while honouring the diverse cultural traditions of tea-making. By following these core values, we've been able to prioritise four sectors of our products and practices to build upon.
Our philosophy revolves around continuous improvement and sustainability. We strive to deliver exceptional teas that not only taste great but also contribute to a healthier world. We're constantly exploring innovative methods and sustainable practices that align with our values and exceed your needs.
Certified Organic
We meticulously select our teas, herbs, fruits, and spices to ensure exceptional quality. We believe that natural, certified organic, wild-crafted, and pesticide-free ingredients are better for your health.
That's why our range contains no flavourings or additives—just pure, real ingredients.

Sourcing Ingredients
Tea is the world’s most consumed beverage after water, and its global demand has made it a heavily traded commodity.
However, modern tea farming often sacrifices distinctive flavours and unique qualities for higher yields. We choose to do things differently.
Our philosophy allows us to meticulous select teas from regions like Sri Lanka, India, China, and Taiwan, where traditional farming practices are still upheld. These areas boast centuries-old knowledge and experience in crafting fine teas that we proudly work within.

Fair Trade
Our tea selection process is both ethical and sustainable. We source our teas from small family-run plantations, village productions, and well-regulated cooperatives.
By paying a fair price, we support traditional tea farmers who live in harmony with nature and possess immense knowledge and skill. For these communities, tea is not just a livelihood but a cherished way of life. Every cup of Byron Bay Tea is a testament to the dedication and passion of those who cultivate it.

Sustainable Production
Traditional tea production is inherently sustainable. High-elevation tea plantations naturally avoid pests common at lower elevations where commodity teas are grown.
We encourage natural pest control methods, such as promoting bird presence and introducing pest-deterring plants. Organic farming practices, including soil enrichment, worm production, and natural fertilisers, further enhance sustainability.
