There are so many chai teas out there and so many methods of brewing. Our chai tea is based on the traditional Indian recipe with Cardamon, Ginger, Cinnamon and Licorice but has an Australian twist with Aniseed Myrtle and roasted Wattleseed. To get the most out of our chai, it needs to be brewed correctly. The traditional brewing method is always what we advocate as this is the method that tends to bring out the strength of the black tea and the richness of the spices. Alternatively, you can brew as you would a normal black tea and add milk and a touch of honey.
Traditional Brewing Method
Use 1 heaped teaspoon per cup (220mls) of water and bring to the boil on the stove; take away from heat and infuse for 4 minutes, add 1/3 milk (soy, cows, almond, macadamia, coconut, hemp seed or almond) and bring to the boil; remove from heat; strain and serve with a touch of honey.
Chai Benefits in Winter
Chai is made from a black tea base and a delicate blend of spices that have benefits to improve digestion and to stimulate the circulation to peripheral areas- making it great as a warming cuppa for winter.
