Sneak Peek at the Spring Detox Program

These are two of my all-time favourite recipes for Spring so I wanted to share them with you! Filled with all the antioxidant goodness that your liver will love, the Green Smoothie and the Cleansing bowl will help to give you that Spring Clean on the inside. Check out these easy recipes below.

Green Smoothie
Green smoothies are full of vitamins and minerals, very alkalising and detoxifying. I like to keep things simple so I follow this formula-:

Ingredients
2 cups Greens
(Choose from Spinach, Kale, Romaine, Bok Choy, Swiss Chard, Collards, Dandelion.)

2 cups Liquid
(Choose from Coconut Water or Milk, Water or Almond Milk.)

3 cups Fruit
(Banana, Mango, Berries, Orange, Avocado, Peach, Pear, Apple, Pineapple, Grapes.)

1 teaspoon Tea
(Choose from Detox, Glow, Digest, Immunity, Tummy Tone, Fortify or Spice Dream.)

Optional: 1 teaspoon of Superfood Green powder.

Method
Blend leafy greens and liquid together first. Then add fruits, tea and superfood powder and blend all together.

Cleansing Bowl
This is such an easy dish to get together and jam-packed full of nutrients making the perfect cleansing meal for Spring. Containing wholegrains, vegetables, greens and avocado- it has a good balance of protein, carbohydrate and quality fats. Topped with sauerkraut, a fermented food to encourage the growth of good bacteria in the gut- this is sure to make the tummy happy.

Ingredients

  • Brown rice (cooked in Ginger Zing for flavour)
  • Beetroot, roasted
  • Almonds, dry roasted (with a sprinkle of Spice Dream) and chopped
  • ½ avocado
  • Broccoli, steamed
  • Rocket
  • Sauerkraut

Method
Brown Rice with Ginger Zing- Infuse 2 cups (440mls) of Ginger Zing; place into a saucepan with 1 cup of brown rice; bring to the boil and then reduce to a low heat; cover with lid and cook for 30 minutes.

Dry Roasted Almonds with Spice Dream-Mix together 1 cup of almonds into a bowl with 1 level teaspoon of Spice Dream; place onto a tray with baking paper and into the oven at a low heat (60 degrees celsius) for 30 minutes.

Mixed together all ingredients and top with hummus, almonds and sauerkraut with a squeeze of lemon.

Enjoy!
